UST projector screen installation planning

Ultra-short-throw projection magnifies alignment errors. A frame that is slightly out of level or a projector that is slightly twisted can create obvious geometry problems across a 120-inch image.

Before assembly

  • Verify the wall is flat enough for a large fixed frame.
  • Find studs or use mounting hardware rated for the wall construction and screen weight.
  • Confirm the finished image height before drilling.
  • Confirm projector placement from the projector manufacturer's own geometry table.
  • Clear a large, clean floor area so the optical surface is not creased, scratched or contaminated.

Alignment sequence

  1. Assemble and tension the frame on a protected flat surface.
  2. Mount the screen level and square.
  3. Place the UST projector centered to the screen.
  4. Use physical position and feet adjustments before relying on digital keystone correction.
  5. Fine-tune focus and geometry only after the projector and furniture are in their permanent positions.

Why physical alignment comes first

Digital geometry correction can reduce the active pixel area and hide an underlying placement problem. A UST projector is most predictable when the screen is flat, the projector is level, and the optical axis is physically centered before software correction is used.
